These sophisticated cosmopolitans from Hong Kong decided to have their wedding in Tokyo.
A destination wedding in Tokyo? Why not?
Tokyo has everything they were looking for – good food, fun and coziness – a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of their hometown. Tokyo is a ‘city of gastronomy’ where you can enjoy cuisine from all over the world. It was only natural that these food and art lovers fell for the choice of the Andaz Tokyo.
“Cosmopolitan meets secret garden” was the theme of this wedding. Chic, sleek interiors were adorned with greenery-inspired, rustic and relaxed touches. Once you stepped onto the 52nd floor of the Andaz, you were embraced into this world of a secret garden. The wedding altar at the rooftop chapel was decorated with greenery and candles, where surrounded by guests and loved ones, the sweethearts exchanged vows written personally to each other.
An intimate wedding reception followed, which incorporated organic and natural textures. The dining tables were embellished with English-garden inspired, soft-toned garden roses, leaves and herbs with candles. All of this became even more magical as the sun began to set in the backdrop of the dining room, which opened into a panoramic view of the city of Tokyo.
After dinner, the wedding party enjoyed an evening of dance in the perfect summer breeze. Music, song and laughter filled the terrace, with Tokyo tower shining beyond as if it were celebrating their new chapter in life.
Flying a few hours from Hong Kong, this couple found just the perfect venue for them. Who ever thought a destination wedding would have to be either on the beach or in a forest? You could just as well have an intimate yet stylish destination wedding in the heart of Tokyo!
From the couple…
Our wedding at Andaz fulfilled a lot of what we desired in tying our nuptials – the venue was minimalistic and classy, with an understated but elegant vibe.
We were fortunate to work with a very professional team – with Yuki coordinating, the florist and decor team executed our ideas and gave tasteful suggestions, the F&B team cooked and served faultlessly on site for all 80+ of us, musicians, lighting technicians, makeups artists, videographers and attendants of the bridal party all worked to display an exceptionally high standard of Japanese hospitality.
Most of all, made possible by the planning and attention to detail of the whole team, the entire day went by in a stress-free manner and we, as the bride and groom, were actually able to enjoy every minute of the wedding day, which is what REALLY matters!
